Fukuoka continues its growth as the capital city of Kyushu, while preserving its rich history and traditions. The first stop on your itinerary after leaving the port will be Dazaifu Tenman-gu Shrine. Dazaifu Tenman-gu shrine is housed in extensive grounds covering an area of 3,000 acres. The tranquil garden is planted with 6,000 plum trees and the shrine itself is built on the grave of Sugawara no Michizane, venerated throughout Japan as Tenjin, the Shinto kami of scholarship. Michizane is celebrated as a man pure in heart and deed, and after his death he was deified and worshipped as a god. Next stop will be Hakata machiya Hall. Hakata Machiya was relocated from the townhouse originally built as a residence and factory in Hakata during the middle of the Meiji era. It has become a designated cultural asset of Fukuoka city. Enjoy for an exploration into the heart of Hakata. After that we will walk around the Nakasu Kawabata district which is local shopping area and visit the Kushida shrine. The shrine of Hakata Gion Yamakasa is dedication,Yamakasa is the decoration float and this is on display all year round. It has been nicknamed "Kushida-san" and loved from the people in Hakata. Finally we will take you to the Fukuoka airport.
